CORDIAL KNOWLEDGE BASE Compatibility of Ethernet cables In the digital age, network applications are now "state of the art". Major productions are no longer conceivable without the latest data transmission technology and Ethernet connections are also indispensable when it comes to home networks (router/PC). In the music industry, Cat5 is still the standard in many settings, but the emphasis is shifting more and more towards Cat6 or Cat7.
Cordial is Member of SPE INDUSTRIAL PARTNER NETWORK SINGLE PAIR ETHERNET So far, two twin cores were or are (still) required for Fast Ethernet and four twin cores for Gigabit Ethernet.

CSE All ready made Cordial Ethernet cables begin with the letters CSE. This means: Cordial - Top Performance - Ethernet. 0,3 0,5 1 2, 2,5 3 5 7,5 10 15 20 25 30 35 50 75 100 125 150 This is followed by the length of the cable in meters. Cordial offers ready-made Ethernet cables in lengths between 0.3m and 150m. NN HH NH The next two letters indicate the plug combination. H stands for HIROSE®, a normal RJ45 plug. N stands for NEUTRIK®, an RJ45 with etherCON® plug protection.
Ethernet cables, are becoming more and more significant. They are crucial components when it comes to meeting the enormous requirements of digital projects within the industry. Ethernet cables are currently subdivided into different classes or categories (CATegories) based mainly on their bandwidth and data speed. At present the most relevant are CAT 5e, CAT 6A and CAT 7A.
How effectively an Ethernet cable prevents crosstalk is expressed in decibels (dB). The higher the crosstalk attenuation value, the lower the crosstalk. The CCAT 7A Long Run, for example, has 90 dB crosstalk attenuation at 500MHz over a distance of 100m. Comparable Ethernet cables only achieve 60-75 dB. It is therefore always worth while to compare your Ethernet cables with state-of-the-art models and update them.
Compatibility of Ethernet cables To be able to make use of the full range of functions, you should always use a cable whose standards correspond to the periphery. For Ethernet applications in Europe, the predominant current standard is the RJ-45 connector type. Once the connector compatibility is given, downward compatibility is no longer an issue. Conversely, the matter becomes much more complex.
